Swalwell Memories
This was Swalwell's second post office, the first being in Lyndhurst Terrace. Next to the Highlander, the building was the old Angel Inn and was very dark and dingy inside. As you went in, a small office on the left was used by the Postmen, the Post Office counter faced you as you entered. The telephone kiosk stood outside and Arthur Lumley's Snack Bar is on the right.
